Located an hour away from Salt Lake City, Eden is a short drive from the Salt Lake City International Airport the drive follows our stunning Wasatch Mountain range to arrive in Ogden, Utah. From there you are just a scenic Ogden Canyon drive away from wonderful Eden, Utah.
Summer in Eden:
During the summertime, many want to go out and explore nature! Luckily, Eden has all the locations for outdoor activities. For starters, Eden is near the Pineview Reservoir, where swimming, paddleboarding, and even boating are great ways to cool off during the summer. There are also trails to take if you want to enjoy and embrace nature. The two trails are the Brim Trail and Paper Airplane. If you are planning to stay overnight in Eden, Wolf Creek and Golf Club are waiting for your arrival! They provide many luxurious lodging options to be reserved and have a golf course for those who want to spend some time golfing. You can also visit the farmers market that opens at 5:30pm on Thursdays. The market has many local vendors that sell food, art, jewelry, fruits, vegetables, and live music.
Winter in Eden:
During the wintertime, Eden has many places to enjoy the winter fun! Eden is home to the Nordic Valley Ski Resort, where the excitement of skiing begins. This resort provides season passes, one day tickets, private lessons, and more! Since this is a seasonal location, weather conditions vary during the time of the season. Alongside this resort is Powder Mountain, a continuation of your snow adventure. Powder Mountain also provides season passes, lodging, lessons, and even summer hikes! Both locations are family-friendly and let kids ski for free during the winter season!
Eating & Drinking in Eden:
After exploring the mountains in Eden, there are some places you should visit to enjoy a meal. One of the first locations that is recommended by a few people is Mad Moose Cafe. This location serves plenty of food such as burgers, sandwiches, salads, and baked goods. More locations can be listed: Carlos & Harleys, Saddlebag Saloon, Ogden Valley Pizza, and Hank’s Bistro and Brew. Some of these locations do provide alcohol.
Getting to Eden:
Not only is Eden a great place for all seasons, but even getting to Eden is scenic. Highway 39, which goes through the Ogden Canyon, gives a route that is unforgettable! The route is surrounded by nature, but what makes this route remarkable is the waterfall you can see along the way. Highway 162 through Liberty is an unpaved, scenic route that crosses the range between Weber and Cache counties. Trappers Loop is known for the many trees along the way. In the fall, it’s perfect to see the different colored trees.
Stay in the Valley:
Though Eden is a great place to visit, make your stay longer by staying overnight! Wolf Creek Village is a great place to stay. These cabins come in different bedroom units and have some activities around the area such as biking, fishing, hiking, and more. Another place to stay is WorldMark by Wyndham at Wolf Creek. This place also has different room units, but also has a barbecue area, an indoor sauna, and a pool (seasonal) that can be accessed. The Compass Rose Lodge offers beautiful rooms with steampunk elements that make your stay worthwhile.
Dark Skies in Eden:
North Fork Park is the perfect place to view the stars and even catch a shooting star! The park isn’t too far away from downtown Ogden and can be visited easily. This open area elevates your stargazing nights with a clean, open area to get a view of the stars. Another place you can visit is the Huntsville Astronomic and Lunar Observatory (HALO). The telescope that is located at the observatory offers stunning views of planets, nebulae, and distant galaxies. The observatory gives you the opportunity to take a view of what outer space is like.
