Harvest Moon Celebration Summer 2015

Harvest Moon Celebration Summer 2015

The Harvest Moon Celebration is an annual farewell to summer event on Historic 25th Street.

The Historic 25th Street Association will host the 14th annual Harvest Moon Celebration on September 19th from noon to 8:30 pm. Presented by America First Credit Union, Harvest Moon is a tribute to supporting local first. The day is made up of live music, entertainment, arm wrestling, pumpkin decorating and more than twenty children’s activities with support from Weber County RAMP, local nonprofits and on-street businesses. Nearly 23,000 people participated in the event last year, with more expected for 2015.

The event is hosted and produced by the Historic 25th Street Association, a nonprofit, and features local businesses, community partners and live entertainment. We do not allow outside vendors.

Changes to the event for 2015 include a re-positioning of the stage to accommodate a more family-friendly atmosphere. The main stage will be centered on Historic 25th Street at Lincoln Avenue with centralized seating; kid’s activities and food/beverage stations will be mixed throughout both the 100 and 200 blocks. An additional stage will be located at Grant Avenue and arm wrestling will be at the opposing end near Wall Avenue.

A majority of the children’s activities are free, though some stations will be charging a nominal fee or accepting tips, such as face painting. Community partners supporting the free activities include Ogden Eccles Dinosaur Park, Color Me Mine, Union Station, Ogden Nature Center, America First Credit Union, the Wildlife Center, and more. Activities include rock climbing, spray tattoos, face painting, make and take arts and crafts, as well as clowns and a magician.

Food will be available from participating on-street restaurants. Beer and wine will be available at designated beverage stations for guests 21+. Coolers are not allowed into the Celebration and will be checked at entry points.

Pets will not be allowed on the street, with the exception of service animals.

For additional activity details and stage schedules please check the Facebook event page.
