Visit Ogden Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program
Ogden historically is one of the most diverse cities in the State of Utah. It stands to reason that our visitor profile is equally diverse. The keystone to a healthy visitor economy is ensuring our community is welcoming and accessible to all. Visit Ogden proactively works with industry-leading organizations to ensure accessibility and address diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. We are happy to provide personalized training on our Sunflower initiative to any organization in our community.
Participants in The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program display a sunflower lanyard, which serves as a visual cue for trained staff to provide additional kindness, patience, and respect.
Use of the Sunflower lanyard is a way to discreetly alert staff that someone may require additional assistance, a vital visual cue that doesn’t bring unneeded stigmatization to individuals.
