It’s Leap Year. That means an “extra day” in February. This year, February 29th falls on a Saturday. Don’t spend your extra day stuck in the rut of running errands or going to all the same places. We’ve compiled a list of a dozen unique things that you can do in the Ogden area with your extra day!

START IT RIGHT!
Energize your extra day by starting it at one of Ogden’s independently owned coffee shops. Our favorites include Daily Rise, Kaffe Mercantile, Grounds for Coffee, Cuppa, and Wasatch Roasting. You can do a deeper dive on Ogden’s coffee scene here.
GET YOUR BLOOD PUMPING!
Knock out a quick 10K run as part of the Striders Winter Race Circuit. Especially if you’re eyeing the Ogden Marathon coming up in May.
FUEL UP!
Try a new brunch spot. Anyplace on Yelp’s top ten list is a solid place to start, but choices could also include Angry Goat, Harp & Hound, Lighthouse Lounge, Roosters, Snowbasin, UTOG, and Cuppa.
TRY A NEW WINTER SPORT!
Skiing and snowboarding at our local resorts (Snowbasin, Powder Mountain, Nordic Valley) are obvious options, but why not get a little adventurous with your bonus day? Fat biking or cross country skiing at North Fork Park. Snowshoeing Wheeler Creek trail or around Green Pond. How about ice fishing at Pineview. If you need gear and guidance, check in with Weber State University's Outdoor Recreation program or Diamond Peak Mountain Sports.
ESCAPE WINTER!
If winter weather isn’t your thing, but you want to get the blood pumping, take it indoors and try indoor skydiving, climbing or surfing at the Salomon Center. If that’s too much adrenaline, may we recommend a bit of competitive axe throwing at Social Axe?
LEARN SOMETHING NEW!
Spend a few hours exploring the museums and art galleries at Ogden’s Union Station. The Station houses four museums (the Utah State Railroad Museum, the John M. Browning Firearms Museum, the Browning–Kimball Classic Car Museum, and the Utah Cowboy Western Heritage Museum) and two art galleries (the Gallery at the Station, and the Myra Powell Gallery).
TRY A NEW LOCAL BEER!
Find a new favorite beer by visiting the taprooms at UTOG, Talisman, or Roosters B-Street...and take some home.
LISTEN TO SOMETHING FRESH!
Check out a new bar and take in some live music by artists you’ve never heard. Nick Passey and the Perpetual Sadness will be performing at Lighthouse Lounge. A couple of Logan bands, Big Sis and Salduro, will be taking the stage at Funk n’ Dive. Or try the reggae and ska sounds of Soul Rise at The Yes Hell.
CATCH A RISING STAR!
Platinum-selling recording artist, high-octane entertainer, multi-instrumentalist, and award-winning singer/songwriter, Chris Janson, will be performing at at Peery’s Egyptian Theater.
SMASH SOMETHING!
Blow off some steam and reduce anxiety, anger, heartbreak, grief, and depression at Smash-It, Utah’s only rage room. Pick the stuff you want to smash, choose your instrument of destruction, and have at it.
GET CULTURED!
Start at The Monarch and take yourself on a walk around town and do an Instagram story about all of the murals you encounter. Be sure to tag @ogden_arts!
