John Paul Area Opens Earliest Ever on December 6, 2018

Snowbasin, UT – December 06, 2018– Snowbasin Resort is thrilled to start turning the John Paul Lift and open John Paul Lodge earlier than ever. John Paul lift will open for guests December 6, 2018. Snowbasin Resort has received 83 inches since the start of the season on November 20, 2018, and these early conditions have never been better. The guests can expect some new experiences off the John Paul lift this upcoming season with terrain updates and expanded dining options once the season gets into full swing.

The mountain operations team worked hard to improve the skiing and snowboarding experience from John Paul Lodge down Mt. Ogden Bowl Road this summer. The team was able to remove big rocks, as well as widen and grade the run coming back towards Porcupine Chairlift. Davy Ratchford, the General Manager, says, “The significant work done over the course of the summer created more intermediate skiing off the John Paul lift and will make that popular area more accessible to our guests.”

Besides the improved trail work, John Paul Lodge will have some new menu items this season including the Habanero Beef Chili, which was the winning chili from the No Name Chili Fest voted by their guests. In addition to new menu items inside, Snowbasin will be turning the lower patio into a place to unwind and relax with some of the most beautiful views in all of Utah with the Alpine Grille. This one-of-a-kind service will include delicious food, Adirondack seating, music and stunning views. The Alpine Grille opens at the beginning of January and will be open on Saturdays and Sundays through March 24th from 11:30 am – 2:00 pm.
